Hogwarts is regarded as one of the most prestigious and oldest private school for boys in the United Kingdom. The Forbidden Forest surrounds the school, sometimes called the Dark Forest.

Hogwarts is full of secrets. Some of these secrets are kept from view like the Chamber of Secrets. Others are well-known, and frequently used, such as the Leaky Cauldron Restaurant and Gringotts Money Exchange.

The Chamber of Secrets was constructed by Salazar Slytherin before he left Hogwarts. It was designed to cleanse the school of students who were born in the wizarding world. Voldemort believed that he had won the last battle and planned to enslave all of Hogwarts students into Slytherin. He died before he could finish his plan.

The Chamber of Secrets is deep beneath Hogwarts’ school. It is the home of the ancient Basilisk. The Chamber is left open when Dumbledore’s army gets betrayed. It also has floor cushions that can be used to defend against Dark Detectors and defensive spells. The Chamber is also the home of an immortal memory of Tom Riddle, who was killed by Harry Potter.

The Chamber of Secrets is also home to two serpents, in the solid wall of the Room. They have the eyes of emerald. They are believed to be summoned by Tom Riddle. They also have the ability to grow the Devil’s Snare, a large snake that can attack anyone who is in the Chamber. The Chamber is also home to a snake-scratching tap. It is also home to a huge black boarhound named Fang. He is friendlier than Mrs. Norris.

The Slytherin dormitory is situated inside the dungeon. The room is adorned with carved armchairs and is green. It also has a statue of Salazar Slytherin. The room is lit by green lamps and the room has a greenish glow.

The Hufflepuff dormitory is a cozy room that is sunny and has low ceilings. The plant life hangs from its ceiling. It also has a huge space for gathering. The badger is the House animal. It is believed that the badger is a symbol of gathering family. Nearly headless Nick is also a ghost that haunts the house.

There are a few short-cuts to take you from the school to the castle. They aren’t always readily accessible however. They are usually hidden behind tapestry or with a secret entrance. These shortcuts are only accessible to House members. Behind barrels lies the secret entry point to Hufflepuff. The barrels are also under spell and when you tap the barrel in the right rhythm, it will open an edgy chute.

The Dark Room is where Dumbledore’s Army meets. It is where many of the battles are fought during the Harry Potter series. It is also where Dumbledore makes his argument for Harry’s protection. It contains floor cushions for defensive spells, as well as volumes of Defence Against the Dark Arts.

There are also secret entrances to four House dormitories. These are also hidden from the outside, and require a password or a ritual. These are the entrances used by the members of that House.
