The Sorting Hat also serves a number of functions beyond the decision of which house a student should be assigned. It can read the wearer’s mind and react to their thoughts. It can even speak to them. It can be used to determine the House where a student is from and also to present the Sword of Gryffindor only to those who are qualified.
Room of Requirement
During Harry’s time at Hogwarts The Room of Requirement played a important role in the Harry Potter series. Aside from the fact that it provided Harry with his first (and last) Horcrux It was also the place the place where Voldemort’s diadem, which was lost, was hidden. The Room of Requirement was so obscure that it took Dumbledore almost a year to discover its dark past.
The room also houses a range of oddball artifacts including the Sorting Hat, which is an artifact that is sapient. The hat also houses a legilimen, which uses legitmization in order to read minds. The common room of Slytherin was situated below the Black Lake. It had rough stone walls and silver lamps hanging from its ceiling. It is well-known for its stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Slytherin was a noble House and Gryffindor was famous for its rivalry with Slytherin. Hufflepuff was the least noble of all four houses. It was known for its virtues in loyalty, patience and hard work.
Hogwarts is the school where students go to stay during the academic year. Students reside in dormitories and sleep in large four-poster beds. Professors instruct students. There are tables in the House, where students are able to socialize. There are also notice boards located in strategic places within the school.
Library

The Chamber of Secrets is also home to two serpents, built into the wall of the Room. They have emerald eyes. They are believed to be summoned by Tom Riddle. They can also grow the Devil’s Snare which is a large snake that attacks anyone who enters this Chamber. The Chamber is also home to the snake-scratching tap. Fang is a massive boarhound that is black is resident in the Chamber. He is more friendly than Mrs. Norris.
The Slytherin dormitory is located inside the dungeon. The room is adorned with carved armchairs and is green. It also has an image of Salazar Slytherin. The room has green lamps and a greenish glow.
The Hufflepuff dormitory has low ceilings and is a cozy, sunny space. The plant life hangs from its ceiling. It also has a common room. The animal that is housed in the house is the badger. It is believed that the badger is a symbol of gathering family. The house also has a ghost named Nearly Headless Nick.
There are a few short-cuts to take you from the castle to the school. They aren’t always easy to find, however. These are usually concealed by tapestry or by a secret entrance. Some of these short-cuts are only available to members of the House. Behind barrels is the secret entry point to Hufflepuff. It is also under spell so when you tap the barrel in a the same rhythm, it will open an edgy chute.

There are also secret entrances into four House dormitories. They are also kept from outside and require a password or ritual. These are the entrances used by the members of that House.
