Salazar Slytherin created Slytherin. The founder of Slytherin was known for being ambitious and self-protective. Slytherin also earned a negative reputation for being self-centered and vicious. In fact, Slytherin produced the most Death Eaters.

Not only is it house to tens of millions of books and other items, but it also has a section which is only accessible to students who have signed permission. The Chamber of Secrets is also the home of two serpents carved into the solid wall of the Room. They have eyes that are emerald-colored. They are believed to have been summoned by Tom Riddle.
