Sorting hat
The first year at Hogwarts students are assigned an appropriate house based on the student’s characteristics. The Sorting Hat does the heavy lifting, putting students in the most appropriate House to challenge them. It’s a great way test out the strengths and weaknesses of a person.

The Sorting Hat is clever and magical. It was created by J.K. Rowling, and is a reference to the magician’s hat, which was owned by Godric Gryffindor. It is also used by Hogwarts’ Founders of Hogwarts to decide which students they will place in their Houses.

The Sorting Hat also performs many other functions, besides the simple task of determining the house to which a student should be assigned. It can read the wearer’s thoughts and respond to their thoughts. It can even talk to them. It can be used to determine the House where a student is from and to give the Sword of Gryffindor only to those who have the qualifications.

Required Room
The Room of Requirement was a important part of Harry’s Hogwarts experience. It was not only the location where Harry got his first (and final) horcrux but it was also the place the location where Voldemort discovered his diadem that he had lost. The Room of Requirement was so obscure that it took Dumbledore nearly a whole year to unravel its dark history.

The room also houses a variety of odd artifacts, including the Sorting Hat, which is an artifact that is sapient. It also contains the legilimen, a device that uses legitmization to read minds. This is a difficult task however it has been accomplished by a handful.

Chapter House
