The Sorting Hat is an imaginative enchanted object. It was designed by J.K. Rowling, and is a nod to the magician’s hat which was owned by Godric Gryffindor. It also serves to determine the students who will be placed in Hogwarts Hostel by the Founders of Hogwarts.
The Sorting Hat also performs many other functions, besides determining which house a student needs to be assigned. It is able to read a wearer’s mind and respond to their thoughts. It can even speak to them. It can be used to determine the House in which a student is from and to give the Sword of Gryffindor only to those who have the qualifications.
Room of Requirement
The Room of Requirement was a key aspect of Harry’s Hogwarts experience. Aside from the fact that it provided Harry with his first (and last) horcrux, it was also the location where Voldemort’s lost diadem was hidden. The Room of Requirement was so obscure that it took Dumbledore nearly a year to unravel its dark history.
The room is also home to an array of oddball artifacts, such as the Sorting Hat, a sapient artifact of its own. It also has a legilimen that uses legitmization to read minds. While this is a trickier task than many wizards would like you to believe it is actually performed by a select few.
Salazar Slytherin created Slytherin. The founder of Slytherin was known for being ambitious and self-preservative. Slytherin also earned a negative reputation for being self-centred and a vicious. Slytherin actually produced the most Death Eaters.
The common room of Slytherin was located below the Black Lake. It had rough stone walls and silver lamps hanging from the ceiling. It is famous for its stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Slytherin was a noble House, while Gryffindor was famous for its rivalry with Slytherin. Hufflepuff, the least noble of the four houses was known for its virtues of loyalty, patience and hard work.

Hogwarts is full of secrets. Some of these secrets are kept from view like the Chamber of Secrets. Some are well-known and often used, like the Leaky Cauldron Restaurant and Gringotts Money Exchange.
Salazar Slytherin constructed the Chamber of Secrets before he left Hogwarts. It was designed to cleanse the school of Muggle-born students. Voldemort believed that he had won the last battle and planned to force all of Hogwarts students into Slytherin. But he passed away before he was able to complete his plan.
The Chamber of Secrets lies deep beneath Hogwarts school. It is also the home to the ancient Basilisk. When Dumbledore’s Army is betrayed, the Chamber is left open. It is home to floor cushions for defensive spells as well as Dark Detectors. The Chamber also houses an embodied memory of Tom Riddle, who was killed by Harry Potter.
Two serpents are also found in the Chamber of Secrets. They have been carved into solid wall of the Room. They have eyes that are emerald-colored. They are believed to have been summoned by Tom Riddle. They also have the ability to develop the Devil’s Snare, a large snake that is a threat to anyone who enters the Chamber. The Chamber is also home to the snake-scratching tap. Fang, a giant boarhound in black is a resident of the Chamber. Fang is more friendly than Mrs. Norris.

There are a few routes that can be used to get from the school up to the castle. These are not always readily accessible, however. They are usually hidden behind tapestry or with an entry that is hidden. Some of these short-cuts are only available to members of the House. The secret entrance for Hufflepuff is behind barrels. The barrel is also under spell so tap the barrel in rhythm to let a slimy chute.
The Dark Room is the place where Dumbledore’s Army meets. It is where many of the battles take place in the Harry Potter series. It is also where Dumbledore presents his argument for Harry’s protection. It has floor cushions for defensive spells as well as volumes of Defence Against the Dark Arts.
There are also secret access points to four House dormitories. These secret entrances are also kept from view from the outside and require a password. These are the entrances used by members of that House.
