The Sorting Hat also performs various other tasks, in addition to the decision of the house to which a student should be assigned. It can read the wearer’s mind and respond to their thoughts. It is even able to speak to them. It can also be used to determine the House in which a student is from and also to present the Sword of Gryffindor only to those who are qualified.

Room of Requirement
During Harry’s time at Hogwarts, the Room of Requirement played a pivotal role in the series. It was not just the place where Harry received his first (and final) Horcrux, but also where Voldemort found his lost diadem.
