He was never angry when he was detained and handed the death penalty. He remained calm and focused and fought his way through the circumstances.

Sorting hat
Each student is assigned a Hogwarts house during their first year. This is based on their personality traits. The Sorting Hat does the heavy lifting and places students in the most appropriate House to test their personality. It’s a great way for one to test their strengths and weaknesses.

The Sorting Hat is clever and magical. It was invented by J.K. Rowling and pays tribute to the magician’s hat that was owned by Godric Gryffindor. It is also used by Hogwarts’ Founders of Hogwarts to decide which students to place in their Houses.

The Sorting Hat also serves a number of functions beyond the decision of which house a student should be assigned. It is able to read the wearer’s thoughts and respond to their thoughts. It is even able to speak to them. It can also be used to determine which House students belong to, and to present the Sword of Gryffindor to those who are worthy of it.

The room also houses a range of oddball artifacts including the Sorting Hat, which is an artifact that is sapient. It also has a legilimen that uses legitmization to read minds. While this is a trickier task than most wizards would have you believe it is actually performed by a select few.
