The Sorting Hat is clever and magical. It was designed by J.K. Rowling, and is a nod to the magician’s hat which was owned by Godric Gryffindor. It is also used to determine which students will be placed in the Hogwarts Hostel by the Founders of Hogwarts.

The Sorting Hat can be used to determine which house a student should live in. It is able to read the wearer’s mind and respond to the wearer’s thoughts, and even speak to the wearer. It is also used to determine the House students belong to and to award the Sword of Gryffindor to those who are worthy of it.

Required Room
The Room of Requirement was a crucial aspect of Harry’s Hogwarts experience. Aside from the fact that it provided Harry with his first (and final) horcrux and a horcrux, it also served as the location the place where Voldemort’s diadem, which was lost, was kept. The Room of Requirement was so obscure that it took Dumbledore nearly a year to discover its dark past.

The room also houses a variety of odd artifacts like the Sorting Hat, a sapient artifact of its own. The hat also boasts a legilimen that uses legitmization to read minds. While this is a trickier task than many wizards would like you to believe, it has been done by a small group of.

Some of these shortcuts are only available to members of the House. Behind barrels lies the secret entry point to Hufflepuff. It’s also under spell so if you tap the barrel in the same rhythm, it will open a slimy chute.
