The Sorting Hat is imaginative and magical. It was designed by J.K. Rowling, and is a nod to the magician’s hat which was owned by Godric Gryffindor. It is also used by Hogwarts’ Founders of Hogwarts to decide which students to place in their Houses.

The Sorting Hat can also be used to determine which house a student is best placed in. It is able to read the wearer’s mind and respond to their thoughts. It can even talk to them. It can also be used to determine which House a student belongs to and to present the Sword of Gryffindor to those who are worthy.

Required Room
During Harry’s time at Hogwarts, the Room of Requirement played a pivotal role in the series. Apart from providing Harry with his first (and last) horcrux and a horcrux, it also served as the location the location where Voldemort’s lost diadem was hidden. The Room of Requirement was so obscure that it took Dumbledore nearly a whole year to discover its dark past.

The room is also home to a variety of odd artifacts, including the Sorting Hat, a sapient artifact in its own right. The hat also boasts an legilimen that utilizes legitmization to read minds. This isn’t an easy task, but it has been accomplished by a handful.

Some of these shortcuts are only known to members of the House. The secret entrance for Hufflepuff is hidden behind barrels. It’s also under spell and if you tap the barrel in a the same rhythm, it will open an edgy chute.

The Dark Room is where Dumbledore’s Army meets. It is also the location of many of the battles in the Harry Potter series. It is also where Dumbledore argues for Harry’s defense. It has floor cushions for defensive spells and also volumes of Defence Against the Dark Arts.
