The Sorting Hat takes care of the heavy lifting and places students in the most appropriate House to challenge their personality. It’s a great opportunity to discover one’s strengths and weaknesses.

The Sorting Hat is a clever enchanted object. It was invented by J.K. Rowling and pays tribute to the magician’s hat which belonged to Godric Gryffindor. It is also used to determine the students who will be placed in Hogwarts Houses by the Founders of Hogwarts.

The Sorting Hat can also be used to determine what house a student should live in. It is able to read the wearer’s mind and respond to their thoughts. It is even able to speak to them. It also helps determine the House a student belongs to and to present the Sword of Gryffindor to those who are worthy of it.

The Room of Requirement was a important element of Harry’s Hogwarts experience. It was not just the place where Harry got his first (and final) horcrux but it was also the place the place where Voldemort found his lost diadem. The room also houses a range of odd artifacts, including the Sorting Hat, which is an artifact that is sapient. The hat also boasts a legilimen that uses legitmization to read minds. This is a difficult task however it has been accomplished by a handful.

The Chamber of Secrets lies deep beneath Hogwarts school. It is home to the ancient Basilisk. When Dumbledore’s Army is sacked, the Chamber is left open.
