The Sorting Hat can also be used to determine the home a student should reside in. It is able to read the wearer’s mind and respond to their thoughts. It is even able to speak to them. It can also be used to determine the House in which a student is from and also to present the Sword of Gryffindor only to those who have the qualifications.
