The Slytherin common room was located under the Black Lake, and had rough stone walls and silver lamps hanging from the ceiling. It is well-known for its breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

Slytherin was a noble House, and Gryffindor was famous for its rivalry with Slytherin. Hufflepuff, the least noble of the four houses was known for its values of loyalty, patience, and hard work.
