Aside from the fact that it provided Harry with his first (and last) horcrux, it was also the place where Voldemort’s diadem, which was lost, was kept. The Room of Requirement was so obscure that it took Dumbledore almost a year to discover its dark past.

The room is also home to a variety of odd artifacts, including the Sorting Hat, a sapient artifact that is its own. The hat also boasts an legilimen that utilizes legitmization to read minds. While this is a harder task than the majority of wizards would have you believe it is being performed by a select few.
