The Sorting Hat can be used to determine what house a student is best placed in. It is able to read the wearer’s mind and respond to their thoughts. It can even talk to them. It is also used to determine the House students belong to and to present the Sword of Gryffindor to those who are worthy of it.

Room of Requirement
During Harry’s time at Hogwarts, the Room of Requirement played a crucial role in the story. It was not just the place the location where Harry obtained his first (and final) horcrux but it was also the place where Voldemort discovered his diadem that he had lost. In fact the Room of Requirement was so mysterious that it took the best part of a year for Dumbledore to uncover its sinister past.

The room also houses a range of oddball artifacts including the Sorting Hat, which is an artifact that is sapient. The hat also houses a legilimen, which uses legitmization in order to read minds. This isn’t an easy task however it has been accomplished by a few.

Chapter House
Salazar Slytherin founded Slytherin. The founder of Slytherin was known to be ambitious and self-preservative. Slytherin also earned a negative reputation for being self-centered and violent. Slytherin actually made the most Death Eaters.

The common room of Slytherin was situated below the Black Lake. It had rough stone walls and silver lamps that hung from its ceiling. It is well-known for its stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

Slytherin was a noble House and Gryffindor was well-known for its competition with Slytherin. Hufflepuff was the least noble of the four houses, was known for its virtues of loyalty, patience and dedication to work.

Hogwarts is a big house for all students during the academic year. Students live in dormitories and sleep in four-poster beds that are large and spacious. Professors teach students. Students can gather at the tables in the House. Notice boards are situated in strategic locations around the school.

Library
