Sorting hat
Every student is assigned an Hogwarts house in their first year. This is based on their personality traits. The Sorting Hat does the heavy lifting, placing students in the most suitable House to test them. It’s a great opportunity to determine one’s strengths and weaknesses.

The Sorting Hat is creative and magical. It was created by J.K. Rowling, and is a nod to the magician’s hat which was owned by Godric Gryffindor. It is also used by the Founders of Hogwarts to decide which students they will place in their Houses.

The Sorting Hat also serves a number of functions beyond determining the house to which a student should be assigned. It is able to read the wearer’s thoughts, respond to the wearer’s thoughts, and even speak to the wearer. It can also be used to determine the House which a student comes from and also to present the Sword of Gryffindor only to those who have the qualifications.

Room of Requirement
The Room of Requirement was a key element of Harry’s Hogwarts experience. Aside from it providing Harry with his first (and last) horocracy It was also the place where Voldemort’s lost diadem was hidden. In actuality, the Room of Requirement was so mysterious that it took the best part of a year Dumbledore to uncover its sinister past.

The room is also home to various odd-looking artifacts, including the Sorting Hat, a sapient artifact in its own right. It also contains the legilimen, which utilizes legitmization in order to read minds. Although this is a more difficult task than many wizards would have you believe it is actually only performed by a few.

Chapter House

Hogwarts is a big house for all students during the academic year. Students reside in dormitories and are able to sleep in huge four-poster beds. Professors instruct students. Students are able to socialize at the tables of the House. Notice boards are situated in strategic locations around school.
