Hogwarts is among the most sought-after private boarding schools in the UK. The Forbidden Forest surrounds Hogwarts, also known as the Dark Forest.

Hogwarts is full of secrets. Some of them are hidden from the outside such as the Chamber of Secrets. Some are well-known and often used, like the Leaky Cauldron Restaurant and Gringotts Money Exchange.

The Chamber of Secrets was constructed by Salazar Slytherin before he left Hogwarts. It was designed to purge the school’s Muggle-born students. Voldemort believed that he had won the final battle and was planning to make all Hogwarts students into Slytherin. However, he was killed before he was able to complete his plan.

The Chamber of Secrets lies deep beneath Hogwarts school. It is also the home to the ancient Basilisk. The Chamber is left open after Dumbledore’s army is betrayed. It also houses floor cushions that can be used to protect against Dark Detectors and defensive spells. The Chamber also contains an embodied memory from Tom Riddle, who was killed by Harry Potter.

Two serpents can also be found in the Chamber of Secrets. They are carved into the solid wall of the Room. They have eyes that are emerald-colored. They are believed to be summoned by Tom Riddle. They can also grow the Devil’s Snare which is a large snake that can attack anyone who enters this Chamber. The Chamber is also home to a snake-scratching tap. It also has the huge black boarhound Fang. Fang is more friendly than Mrs. Norris.

Some of these short-cuts are only available to members of the House. Behind barrels lies the secret access to Hufflepuff. The barrels are also under spell so when you tap the barrel in a rhythm it will open up an edgy chute.

The Dark Room is where Dumbledore’s Army meets. It is the site of numerous battles in the Harry Potter series. It is also where Dumbledore fights for Harry’s defense. It also has floor cushions for defensive spells as well as volumes of Defence Against the Dark Arts.

There are also secret entrances to four House dormitories. These entrances are secret from the outside world and require the use of a password. These entrances are only used by members of the House.
