The Room of Requirement was so mysterious that it took Dumbledore almost a year to uncover its dark past.

Founded by Salazar Slytherin, Slytherin was known for its self-preservation and ambition. Slytherin also earned a bad reputation for being self-centered and vicious. Slytherin actually made the most Death Eaters.

The Slytherin common room was located under the Black Lake, and had rough stone walls and silver lamps that hung from the ceiling. It is well-known for its stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

Slytherin was an opulent House, and Gryffindor was well-known for its competition with Slytherin. Hufflepuff was the least noble of the four houses, was known for its values of patience, loyalty, and hard work.
